
What are Unified Hospitals?
Unified Hospitals is implemented by Special Olympics Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, with the aim of promoting inclusion within healthcare facilities and improving the quality of services provided to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The program focuses on developing healthcare environments that are more understanding of and responsive to the needs of this group by enhancing the capabilities of healthcare professionals and improving communication and care practices, contributing to more inclusive and equitable healthcare services.
Healthcare facilities may apply for accreditation and join the Unified Hospitals Program of Special Olympics Saudi Arabia.
The program provides workshops for hospital staff on supporting and interacting with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
